Welcome to The Writer's Toolkit
My name is Sue
Johnson and my aim is to help you create your own 'toolkit' so that you can achieve your full potential as a writer. This means creating your
own space to write and making time for it in your life. No matter how busy you are, it is possible to find that time - you just need to be
determined.
I am a published poet and short story writer. My short stories appear regularly in magazines like 'Woman', 'My Weekly', 'Woman's Weekly',
'Take a Break: Fiction Feast' and 'Chat ' It's Fate.' One of my stories was published in 'Saucy Shorts for Chefs' published by
Accent Press in October 2005. My poems and short stories have also been successful in competitions.
I have completed four novels (two of them are currently with an agent) and am working on my fifth. I contribute articles to several magazines,
including 'Link' - the Journal of the Association of Writers' Groups. I am a Writers' News Home Study Tutor.
I am a great believer in recycling ideas - so that what begins as a poem is recreated as lyrics for a song, a short story or a scene from
a play or novel. I have self-published two 'Writer's Toolkit' books which are designed to help and inspire both new and experienced
writers.
I run creative writing workshops in various parts of the country as well as my regular ones in Pershore. I am also available as a speaker
and can tailor my talk to suit the needs of a particular group.
The space inside your head is a place of enchantment - a series of pathways leading to creative ideas. Using a series of exercises designed
to stimulate the senses, my workshops aim to help you discover these pathways and make full use of the ideas you collect on your journey. |
