Welcome to The Writer's Toolkit

Sue JohnsonMy name is Sue Johnson and my aim is to help you create your own ÔtoolkitÕ so that you can achieve your full potential as a writer. Firstly you need to think about why you want to write Ð and what youÕre prepared to give up in order to achieve your ambition. For instance, missing two television programmes a week could give you two hours extra writing time.

No matter how busy you are, it should be possible to find fifteen minutes a day to jot down some basic ideas. This was all I started with during a very hectic period of my life with three young daughters.

I am a published poet and short story writer. My short stories have appeared in ÔWomanÕ, ÔMy WeeklyÕ, ÔWomanÕs WeeklyÕ, ÔTake a Break: Fiction FeastÕ, ÔChat: its fateÕ, ÔThe PeopleÕs FriendÕ and ÔThatÕs Life Ð Australia.Õ

I have completed five novels Ð three are currently with an agent Ð and two novellas. I am a WritersÕ News Home Study Tutor and also run my own brand of writing workshops at Number 8 Community Arts Centre, Pershore and at Farncombe Estate, Broadway, Worcs (www.FarncombeEstate.co.uk).

I am a great believer in recycling ideas Ð what begins as a poem can be re-created as lyrics for a song, a piece of flash fiction, a short story or a scene from a play or novel. I have self-published a series of four ÔWritersÕ ToolkitÕ booklets and two visualisation CDs. These are designed to help and inspire both new and experienced writers.

The space inside your head is a place of enchantment Ð a series of pathways leading to creative ideas. Using a series of exercises designed to stimulate the imagination, my workshops aim to help you discover these pathways and make full use of the ideas you collect on your journey.

Begin that journey now.
